She may not be among the stars of the show, but Ashlee Simpson still managed to steal the red carpet show away from the female leads of HBO drama Boardwalk Empire at the third season premiere tonight.

The 27-year-old actress and singer looked dainty in a pretty white lace mini dress and silver heels as she arrived on the arm of boyfriend and series star Vincent Piazza .

A cute silver disco-ball style bag and crimson lipstick completed the look as she posed with Vincent, who plays Lucky Luciano in the series, outside the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City.

The couple are said to have been dating since last June, after Ashlee split from husband Pete Wentz last February - their divorce was finalised last autumn.

And while Ashlee was rubbing shoulders with the HBO cast, Wentz was looking after their son Bronx back in California.

While Ashlee may have looked pretty in her embroidered lace number, she was given a run for her money by Boardwalk Empire actress Gretchen Mol , who sported a stunning floor length floral number.
