Pete Wentz Wears Jessica And Ashlee Simpson's Clothes!
9/10/2010 / by Ryan TweetMegoszts Jessica Simpson touched down in New York this week to debut her new denim line for the spring 2011 Jessica Simpson Collection. She showed off her new denim bottoms at her New York showroom, so we popped by to see the range, from skinny jeans to flares to jeggings (who doesn't have those these days!), priced between $49 to $69. Jessica Simpson enlisted a few of her friends to model the new styles at the preview, including little sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her husband, Pete Wentz. When we caught up with the couple, Pete revealed that he was wearing a denim jacket designed by Jessica — a women's jacket! And, we must admit, it looked pretty fabulous on him. Don't you think? Read on to find out what else they told us.
What's your favorite type of denim?
Ashlee: I have a denim shirt on tonight, which I really love. But my favorite denim is a good pair of jeans, and I love skinny jeans. But I think Jessica made a really awesome pair of skinny jeans, the denim is so fine and it just fits your body. And it's a pair, I know for me, I can wear it on an airplane, I can wear it all week. And I like that. I like a pair of jeans that I can wear all week. Like you want dirty jeans, I like that they can get dirty and they stay up.
Pete, does Jessica give you any tips on your fashion?
Pete: Uhhh, yeah, definitely. I'm wearing her denim jacket right now. It's womens. It fits nice.
Do you share clothes with each other?
Ashlee: I always wear his sweaters. Sometimes he wears mine. Sometimes his clothes fit me.
Pete: I stretch out her clothes.
What else do you share in terms of clothing?
Pete: When she gets something, I try to wear it out first.

At Jessica Simpson's Spring 2011 jeanswear show last night, little sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz gushed to us about her love of '90s fashion (and proudly stole/still wears Jessica's flower Doc Martens from the 9th grade) and her obsession with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O. It's no surprise, then, that she's recording an indie-folk album and working on a "boutiquey" clothing line of her own. PAPERMAG chatted with her about it all at the show.
Are you sticking around for any NYFW shows?
I am for a little bit, but I'm sticking around to write music this week.
Do you know the direction of the forthcoming record?
I do, I do. I see the light. But I'm definitely not spilling the beans just yet. It's definitely a bit folky.
Way more folky than "Pieces of Me"?
It had that feel, but I'm really going for it this time!
Well, "LaLa" and "Outta My Head" were pretty major.
Well, I'm always a kooky person, so you're not going to lose that. But for me, there's an era of music that I miss and I wanna make that kind of music. The songs that we need to hear.
Like '90s Alanis Morissette?
No! (laughs)
We miss those days!
I miss them, too. Are you kidding me? I wear my Doc Martens all the time and I never let them go! And my shiny maroon Airwalks. My best friend Lauren from elementary school -- we both used to wear the JNCOS and the shiny maroon Airwalks and she's in the show tonight. She works for my sister and my mom on the line.
It seems like all of your friends and family are involved in Jessica's line.
That's the feel of the whole overall line. I'm always stealing the shoes. And I have to say, they really did a great job with the denim -- and I'm like a J Brand freak. Her jeans fit your butt cutely and they're comfortable -- you can wear them on an airplane. They fit your body right.
And what about your look tonight?
I'm wearing all Jessica. I've even got her bra on, her necklace. I mean, it's my sister so it's so much fun and her line is amazing.
Are you into doing any acting in the future?
Not at the moment. But I'm definitely one that if there's something I love, I'd probably do it if it was a role that I connected with. It's not a rush. But right now, my best friend Lauren and I are going to work on a clothing line, too. Small, cool boutique-y stuff.
Do you have a dream musical collab?
I have to say Gwen Stefani is the new Blondie so I'd wanna do it with her. Or Karen O. I would die. Oh my God, if I got to meet Karen O I would die. Oh my God! I've grown up loving her. I'd paint my face like her. She's my all-time really.

The “Outta My Head” songstress and her boy made their way to a Manhattan eatery where they met up with Ashlee’s sister Jessica Simpson, who is in town promoting her new denim collection.

9/08/2010 / by Ryan Tweet Jessica Simpson played hostess to her friends and family last night in NYC as she showed off new designs from her Jessica Simpson Collection. Her pals like CaCee Cobb and sister Ashlee were among those who were styled in items from the latest installment of her line, and the ladies all showed off their styles while dancing to the tunes of the "best DJ ever," Pete Wentz. Tina Simpson was there as well, but Jess stayed close to her boyfriend, Eric Johnson, whenever she was able to break free of her official duties. Eric hung close to Pete while Jess mingled with editors and reporters, but he was happy to provide some adorable PDA for a photo. Jessica spoke with us about how her style has evolved over the years from her pleather onstage costumes to her current, more polished all-American look, and she also revealed her serious weakness for shoes — she just emptied her closest of 21 boxes worth of stuff, but not one pair of shoes was among the items she passed on to friends!
